Fall 2023
Founded
URBI was founded in Calgary from firsthand frustration with fragmented building management. The vision was clear from day one: create the first true Building OS.
Spring 2024
Beta Launched
Just months later, URBI went live in its first buildings, instantly proving the power of a unified platform to simplify operations and improve visibility.
Winter 2024
Launched to the Public
After rapid iteration with early adopters, URBI matured into a fully battle tested system, trusted by property managers, owners, and operators across diverse portfolios.
Spring 2025
HERO AI Arrives
Version 1.6.0 shipped on April 22, 2025 with HERO AI built in: plain language answers, smarter workflows, and instant clarity for managers and staff.
Fall 2025
Version 2.0
A complete interface redesign, in app board voting with quorum tracking and a full audit trail, and a marketplace rebuilt from the ground up with cart and product questions.
Winter 2025
Arthur Picks Up the Phone
Residents got their own concierge. Arthur answers voice, SMS, email, and in app chat in the building's tone of voice, around the clock, and brings people in only when a decision needs one.
May 2026
URBI Display Ships
Branded lobby and elevator screens carry building news, events, local news, and weather, with an emergency takeover for fire, water, or board notices.

The Breakout Year
More than twenty releases shipped, buildings running their daily operations on URBI, an accounting engine in Beta, and a team growing across Calgary and Dallas.
Who Founded URBI?
URBI started with one founder who had run buildings, installed the hardware inside them, and wanted a single system that did the whole job.
Founder
Sepehr Shoarinejad
URBI is Sepehr's third company. He built Nu Automations, a smart home automation business, through business school on zero outside capital and sold it in 2019 at 7x EBITDA. Along the way he managed 50 people and ran Nu Automations on a team of 15 while a competitor needed 25 for the same revenue.
Koridor was the consulting and the architecture. Nu Automations was the IoT and the installs. URBI is the software. He saw that physical space would become the operating layer of the AI era and built the platform before the market had a name for it. He has done every job this company needs.
