The story so far
How did URBI get here?
No stealth years and no slow ramp. URBI went into live buildings early, shipped relentlessly, and put two AI agents to work inside real operations. Here is the timeline.
Founded in Calgary
URBI starts in Calgary, Alberta, with one conviction: a building should run on one system, not five. The goal from day one is a true Building OS that connects managers, boards, staff, and residents.
Beta in real buildings
URBI goes into live buildings, not a lab. The resident app starts shipping in May 2024 and has not stopped since, with more than twenty releases to date.
Public launch
URBI opens to the public: the resident app on iOS and Android, URBI Kore for managers, boards and staff, and one source of truth for the building.
HERO AI ships in version 1.6.0
The manager's AI arrives, built into the core rather than bolted on. HERO answers plain language questions across the property's records and proposes the next action. People approve, HERO does the work.
Version 2.0
A complete interface redesign, in app board voting with eligibility checks and quorum tracking, and a marketplace rebuilt from the ground up with cart and product questions.
Arthur picks up the phone
Residents get their own concierge. Arthur answers voice, SMS, email, and in app chat in the building's tone of voice, in ten languages, and brings a person in only when a decision needs one.
URBI Display ships
Branded lobby and elevator screens with building news, events, local news and weather, and an emergency takeover for fire, water, or board notices. Printed notices retire.
The breakout year
More than twenty releases, a full accounting engine in Beta, and a team growing across Calgary and Dallas. Year one energy, compounding fast.
