What is the fundamental difference between URBI and SchoolPass?
SchoolPass is a genuinely good product at what it does: visitor management, attendance, bus ridership, and a parent app built specifically for independent school campuses. Its dismissal and carline automation, license plate recognition and RFID tied to real time vehicle traffic, is a real specialty, and reviewers who use it for pickup say it works. None of that is in question.
What SchoolPass does not do is run the campus. No facilities or maintenance work orders, no vendor management beyond screening a contractor like any other visitor, no ticketed events, no general communications platform, no district level dashboards, no accounting or tuition module, and, as of 2026, no AI story. It is a point suite for one operational lane: arrival, dismissal, attendance, and visitor logging.

SchoolPass was acquired by Raptor Technologies in April 2023, a company backed by private equity investors Thoma Bravo and JMI Equity. Its founder moved into a strategy role at Raptor, and SchoolPass's attendance and dismissal automation is now folded into what Raptor calls its integrated suite of school safety software.
That is a materially different trajectory than a platform built to keep expanding campus operations breadth on its own terms. SchoolPass's roadmap now sits inside a larger safety compliance company, and at least one reviewer has noted the product felt less responsive on bug fixes and issue resolution since the acquisition. This is an ownership and roadmap observation, not a safety claim: who decides what SchoolPass builds next is no longer SchoolPass.
How do the pricing models compare?
