How to Read the "What I Checked" Panel
How to expand and read HERO's "What I checked" panel to see each attempt it made answering a data question, both in chat and in the command palette.

Any time HERO answers a data question, it shows its work underneath the answer, so you can see exactly what it looked at, not just the final number.
Steps

After HERO answers a data question, look below the answer (and below any chart) for a What I checked panel. It appears collapsed by default with a one-line summary, for example: "3 attempts across Data search and Relationship map · answered."

Click the panel to expand it. Each attempt HERO made is listed in order, showing what it tried, what it found, and what it decided to do next, for example retry a different way, or accept the result.

If the answer is still streaming in, the panel updates live, so you can watch HERO work through the question in real time.
If HERO tried everything it could and still could not find an answer, the panel says so directly at the end, for example: "I checked bookings, the relationship map, and unit records, and could not find data matching this question." This is expected behavior. HERO does not guess when it cannot find something.
If a trace has many attempts, the panel shows the first few and lets you scroll for the rest, rather than hiding any of them.
If an answer fails partway through, the panel still shows every attempt HERO completed before the failure. Nothing gets thrown away.
Simple chat replies that do not involve looking anything up (for example, a greeting) do not show this panel at all.
In the Command Palette
The same "what I checked" summary appears in a shorter form under HERO answers in the command palette (Cmd/Ctrl-K). Click Open in HERO next to it to jump into the full HERO chat with the panel already expanded.
