Every ticket to a building event can be saved to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. The pass sits with your boarding passes and loyalty cards, works without opening your email, and shows the code that gets scanned at the door.
You need the ticket link that was emailed to you when your registration was confirmed. Nothing needs to be installed first.
Open the ticket link from your confirmation email. Your ticket page shows the event name, the date and time, the location, and your entry code.
Tap Add to Apple Wallet or Add to Google Wallet, depending on your phone.
Your phone opens its own wallet app and asks you to confirm. Once you accept, the pass is saved and the ticket page is done with. You do not need to keep the email.
When your order has several tickets (for example, you registered yourself and two guests), tapping the wallet button asks what you want to add:
If your order has a single ticket, nothing is asked. It simply saves.
Each ticket has its own code. A pass is not a receipt for the whole order, it is one person's entry. Three tickets means three codes, and each guest is scanned in separately at the door. This also means you can send one pass to a guest and keep yours.
Your passes stay together. Passes from the same order group into a stack in your wallet rather than scattering among your other cards. Flipping through the stack, the top of each pass names which ticket it is, such as "2 of 3", so you can tell them apart.
The pass looks like the event. It carries the event's own photo, with colours picked to keep the text readable.
A cancelled ticket does not get a pass. If a ticket is cancelled, it stops being offered. If your whole registration is cancelled, the wallet option disappears from the ticket page entirely.
Your phone may have opened the file without saving it. Return to the ticket page and tap the wallet button again, and this time wait for your wallet app to appear and confirm.
If your phone is set to open links in a browser other than its default one, the pass sometimes downloads as a file instead of opening. Opening that downloaded file directly will add it.
Turn your screen brightness up and hold the phone still. Passes scan from your wallet app, so open the pass itself rather than a screenshot of it, since a screenshot can lose sharpness.
If the code still does not scan, staff at the door can look you up by name. Your registration is valid regardless of whether the pass scans.
You most likely chose Add just this one when the question appeared. Open your ticket link again and tap the wallet button, then choose to add all of them. Adding a pass you already hold does not create a duplicate.
Look for a stack rather than a single card, since passes from one order group together. If your wallet app is set to hide expired passes, an event that has already happened may be tucked away in the expired section.
