Cancel or permanently delete events from the Danger Zone, with a guided cancellation-notice flow when attendees are signed up.
Last updated
Events can be cancelled or permanently deleted from the Danger Zone inside the event edit drawer. If attendees are signed up, the system walks you through approving a cancellation notice before proceeding.
Cancel — marks the event as cancelled. It stays visible in filtered views and the event history. Use this when the event is called off but you want to keep the record.
Delete — permanently removes the event. Use this only when the event was created by mistake.
Both actions send a notification to all confirmed attendees if any are signed up.
Go to Bookings → Events and open the event.
Click the Overview tab in the edit drawer.
Scroll to the bottom of the tab to find the Danger Zone section.
Click Cancel Event (orange button).
A confirmation dialog appears showing the number of confirmed attendees. Review the details, then click Continue.
If any attendees are signed up, a second dialog appears: Approve Cancellation Notice. This is the message that will be sent to attendees. - Review the default message. - Optionally add a personal note in the text field. - Review the recipient count and delivery channels shown.
Click Send & Cancel Event to confirm. The notification is sent immediately and the event is marked cancelled.
Follow steps 1–3 above to reach the Danger Zone.
Click Delete Event (red button).
A confirmation dialog appears. If attendees are signed up, a cancellation notice approval step follows — identical to step 6 above.
Click Send & Delete Event (or Delete Event if no attendees exist) to confirm.
The event is permanently removed. This action cannot be undone.
If there are no confirmed attendees, the cancellation notice step is skipped and the action completes in one click.
Refunds for paid events are handled separately through the event's ticket management screen.
Deleted events do not appear in the default events list. Staff can view deleted events by enabling the Show Deleted filter toggle.
