Creating an event with the step by step wizard: type, details, image, groups, tickets, policy, review. Includes maintenance events.

🆕 What's new in May 2026 (Event System Overhaul):
Create Event wizard redesigned — new step-by-step flow with cleaner Type → Details → Image → Groups → Tickets → Policy → Review sequence (see Step 02 below).
Maintenance event type — a new event type for scheduled downtime and planned work. Maintenance events have no tickets, no RSVPs, and no refund policy. Residents see them as informational notices.
Editable event category — change an event's category from the edit drawer after creation (Details tab) without recreating the event.
Danger Zone — Cancel and Delete actions now live in the event edit drawer (Overview tab → bottom). If attendees are signed up, a cancellation notice approval flow walks you through what gets sent before the action completes.
Consolidated Send Notification — one button replaces two; opens a modal showing when you last sent a notification + lets you pick the audience (ticket holders only or all community members).
Public event pages with email-OTP gate — group-restricted events get a shareable public page. Residents (or invitees) verify identity with a 6-digit code emailed to them before accessing.
The video and screenshots below show the previous interface. Full step-by-step articles for each new feature:
01
Introduction to Event Management
You can create and manage events from the bookings page. As of May 2026, the events module supports two event types: Standard events (open for RSVP, ticketed) and Maintenance events (informational only — no tickets or RSVPs).

02
Navigate to Events and Open the Create Wizard
Go to Bookings → Events and click + Add Event. The Create Event wizard opens and walks you through these steps in order: Type (Standard vs Maintenance) → Details (title, description, date/time, location, category) → Cover image (Unsplash search or upload) → Groups (audience: all community or custom groups) → Tickets & Pricing (skipped for Maintenance) → Refund Policy (skipped for Maintenance) → Review & Publish. For Maintenance events, the Tickets and Refund Policy steps are skipped automatically.

03
Use Event Filters
Once created, use the filters to look through all of your events. As of May 2026, you can also filter to show Deleted, Completed, and Cancelled events — these are hidden by default to keep the primary list focused on active events.

04
Switch Between List and Calendar Views
You can view your events in a list view or a calendar view.

05
View Events and Bookings Side by Side
Or alternatively, you can go to the calendar subpage to view all of your events and amenity bookings side by side to see if any overlap.

06
Open Event Profile Page
Opening an event profile page has much more details and actions you can do with your event.

07
Review Event Overview and Details
The first tab shows an overview of the event. The Details tab allows you to edit any fields such as the description, policy, guest settings, and — new in May 2026 — the event category itself (no need to delete and recreate the event to change its category).

08
Manage Tickets and Pricing
The tickets tab allows you to see how many tickets have been sold so far, and the total revenue. You can click Edit Tickets to add different tiered tickets. (Maintenance events do not have tickets — this tab is not shown for them.)

09
Manage and Export Attendees
The attendees tab will show you who has confirmed for the event. You can also click add attendee to manually add an attendee. Once you have a list of attendees, you can also export a CSV to have a list of all the attendees that are confirmed.

10
Add Vendors to Event
You can add vendors. For example, if you're expecting a food or drink vendor at your event, you can add them here.

11
Manage Operations Team and Supplies
This will be accessible in the operations mode of the event. And in the same vein, you can add the team members that are going to be responsible for this event, such as staff members, emergency contacts, and any supplies as well.

12
Use Event Timeline for Tasks
The timeline is a task list for this event. Feel free to add tasks to keep yourself organized. This is also particularly useful in the operations mode on event day or leading up to event day.

13
Add Notes and Preview Event
And as with most items, you can also add notes and comments as you wish. In the top, you can click this preview button to preview what this event looks like from the attendees' point of view.

14
Access Operations Page
You can click the operations button to go to the operations page and login if you are part of the operational team.

15
Start Event Raffle
If this event has a raffle, you can click the raffle button to open the raffle page and start it.

16
Send Notification — One Button, Audience Picker
The two previous notification buttons are now a single Send Notification button at the top of the event edit drawer. Opening it shows a modal with:
Last sent: the date and time of the most recent notification for this event (or "Never sent").
Audience picker: choose between Ticket holders (only residents with confirmed RSVPs or on the waitlist) or All community members (everyone in the property).
For Maintenance events, the "Ticket holders" option is automatically hidden because there are no ticket holders.
17
Danger Zone — Cancel or Delete from the Drawer
At the bottom of the Overview tab in the event edit drawer, you'll find the new Danger Zone section with two actions:
Cancel Event (orange) — marks the event as cancelled but keeps the record. Use this when the event is called off but you want history preserved.
Delete Event (red) — permanently removes the event. Use this only when the event was created in error.
When attendees are signed up, a cancellation notice approval dialog appears before the action completes. You can review and personalize the notice text before sending. Once confirmed, the notification is sent immediately and the event is cancelled or deleted.
18
Public Event Pages — Email-OTP Gate for Private Events
When an event is restricted to specific custom groups, residents access the event's public page via a secure email + one-time code flow:
Resident opens the shared event link.
They enter their email and click Send Code.
A 6-digit code arrives in their inbox.
They enter the code on the verify screen.
If their email matches a unit in an authorized group, access is granted (verified session lasts 4 hours).
If not, they see an Access Denied screen with a note to contact the property manager.
The link can be shared publicly — only residents whose email matches an authorized group can complete verification.
19
Mobile Events for Staff
The full events experience is now on mobile for staff: list view with filters (bottom-sheet picker), a 6-step Add Event wizard, and a 10-tab Edit Event modal that mirrors desktop.
