A walkthrough of the redesigned Create Event wizard from choosing the event type all the way to publishing.
Last updated
The Create Event wizard was redesigned in May 2026. This article walks through every step of the new flow — from choosing an event type all the way to publishing.
You need create access to the property's events. Decide upfront whether this is a Standard event (social, fitness, ticketed, RSVP) or a Maintenance event (scheduled downtime — no tickets, no RSVPs). The wizard adjusts based on your choice.
Go to Bookings → Events in the left navigation.
Click + Add Event (top-right of the list) or press the + button on mobile.
The first step asks you to choose between:
Standard event — open for RSVP, supports tickets, refund policies, and ticket tiers.
Maintenance event — informational notice for scheduled work. No tickets, no RSVPs, no refund policy.
Selecting Maintenance skips the Tickets and Refund Policy steps automatically.
Fill in: - Title — what shows on the event card (e.g. "Summer Rooftop Party"). - Description — a few sentences. Residents see this on the event page. - Category — Social, Fitness, Wellness, etc. (For Standard events. Maintenance is its own category.) - Date and time — start and end. - Location — building name, room, or address.
Search the Unsplash library directly from the wizard, or upload your own image.
By default, events are visible to all community members. To restrict visibility:
Toggle off All community.
Select one or more custom groups (e.g. "Owners only", "Floor 12 residents").
Only residents whose unit belongs to a selected group will see the event in their feed. They can access the public event page via email + OTP — see How to Publish a Private Event.
If your event is paid or has limited capacity:
Click Add ticket tier.
Set the tier name (e.g. "General Admission", "Early Bird"), price, and quantity.
Add additional tiers as needed.
For free, open events, you can skip this step and use the default "RSVP" tier.
Pick from the standardized refund policy templates: - Full refund until X hours before - Partial refund until X hours before - No refunds
The selected policy text is shown on the public event page and at checkout. Residents must acknowledge it before paying.
The final step shows everything you've configured. Verify: - Title, date/time, and location are correct. - Audience matches who you want to invite. - Ticket tiers and prices (if applicable) look right.
Click Publish Event to make it live.
Standard events: a notification is auto-sent to your selected audience announcing the new event.
Maintenance events: no auto-notification is sent — you can send one manually anytime via the Send Notification button on the event drawer.
The new event appears in Bookings → Events and (for residents in the audience) in the resident app event feed.
You can edit most event fields after publishing — including the Category (new in May 2026). Open the event drawer → Details tab.
To cancel or delete an event after publishing, see How to Cancel or Delete an Event.
For private events shared via OTP link, see How to Publish a Private Event.
