Here is the complete flow from publishing a news article to replying back to a resident.

Step 1 — Publish your article

Write and publish your news article as usual. URBI automatically attaches a reply address to the outgoing email. Residents do not see this address — their email client simply knows to use it when they hit Reply.

Step 2 — Resident replies to the email

The resident opens the news email in their inbox and hits Reply. They type their message and send it. This works from any email client — no app needed.

Step 3 — A "Re: [article title]" thread appears in your inbox

Within moments, the reply appears in your URBI inbox as a new conversation. The thread title matches the article: "Re: [your article title]". Each resident who replies gets their own separate thread — you will not see all residents' replies in one combined conversation.

Step 4 — You're notified by push and email

As the article's author, you receive both a push notification and an email alerting you that a resident has replied. The push notification shows the resident's name and the start of their message; the email provides the same information so you won't miss it regardless of your notification settings.

Step 5 — Reply from the inbox

Open the thread in your inbox and reply as you would to any other message. The resident receives your reply in their email.

Step 6 — Follow-up replies go to the same thread

If the same resident replies again — to any email related to that article, including a news update — their message is added to the existing thread. No duplicate conversations are created.
