I can't find a resident to message

If a resident isn't showing up when you search recipients while starting a chat, your account most likely has the resident contact list permission turned off. With that permission off, you can still message other staff, board members, and property managers on the property, but residents just won't appear in your search results.

What to do: Ask an admin on your property to turn the resident contact list permission on for your account.

A resident can't reply to my chat

If a resident tells you they can't send a message back in a chat you started, check whether Read-Only was turned on when the chat was created. Read-Only chats let staff and property members reply, but block replies from residents; it's meant for one-way notices.

What to do: Start a new chat with Read-Only turned off if you want the resident to be able to reply.
