Terminology: This universal guide uses neutral descriptions. The product renders its configured property and occupant labels; machine-readable CSV values remain unchanged.
The location importer loads a whole property into URBI from one CSV file. It creates the locations, sets each location's status, and adds people with the relevant roles you list against them. It is how a new property gets onboarded in minutes instead of one location at a time.
Where to find it. Settings, then the Locations card, then Manage Locations, then the Bulk Actions tab inside the drawer.
Who can use it. Staff, property staff and board members whose Add People permission is turned on for that property. Someone whose Add People permission is off cannot upload a file, and cannot add a person from anywhere else in URBI either, though Resend Invite on someone already invited still works for them.
What one file can hold. Up to 2000 rows. One row per person, so a location with three people with the relevant role classifications takes three rows, all carrying the same location number.
How it runs. You upload the file, confirm which of your columns means what, review the rows URBI flagged, then press import. The import itself runs in the background and emails you a report when it finishes.
The one thing to know before you start. Uploading a file no longer emails or notifies anyone. Every person in the file is added quietly, as Pending Invite. People only hear from URBI once you deliberately press Bulk Invite, on your own schedule, often on or near move-in day. Read What Happens When You Import for the full timeline, and Bulk Invite and Send Reminder for how to actually notify everyone once you're ready.
The Locations card now has a single button, and the drawer's import tab is renamed Bulk Actions:
