How staff can add an extra paid item, such as a grill rental or cleaning add-on, to a booking a resident has already made.
Last updated
If a resident asks for something extra after they've already booked, for example a grill rental or a cleaning add-on, add it to their existing booking instead of asking them to book again.
Who can use it: staff, board members, or PMs with amenity booking edit permission on the property.
Open the booking. From Bookings › Amenity Bookings, click the booking you want to add an item to.
Open "Add items to this booking." This is available from the booking drawer.
Pick the item and quantity. Only the amenity's configured optional items are available here, for example "Grill Rental" or "Extra chairs (x4)." Pick the item and, where relevant, how many.
Confirm. This doesn't create a new booking or touch the reservation itself; it adds a new unpaid charge to the existing booking.
The new item appears as a new line under Outstanding charges on the Payment & Refunds tab, alongside the deposit and any other unpaid items. From there you can collect it the same way as any other outstanding charge: send a payment link, record a manual payment, or waive it. See "The unified collect surface" for the full flow.
The resident also sees the new charge on their own booking and can pay it themselves without waiting for staff to collect it; see "Optional charges added to your booking" for what they'll see.
If you try to add an item that's already on the booking (for example the resident asked for a grill rental and you'd already added one), the action is safe to retry. It won't create a duplicate charge for the same item and quantity.
