  • What you'll see
  • Paying it
  • If it's later removed or waived
  • If you added an item yourself while amending your booking

Occasionally staff add an extra paid item to a booking after you've already made it, for example a grill rental or a cleaning add-on you asked for over email or in person. This guide explains what you'll see and how to pay it.

Who this applies to: residents whose booking has a new charge added by staff after the original booking was confirmed.

What you'll see

If staff add an item to your booking, it shows up as a new outstanding charge, separate from your original fee or deposit. It doesn't create a new booking or affect your reservation in any way; it's simply an additional line staff have made payable on the booking you already have.

Paying it

An item staff add is paid the same way as any other outstanding charge on your booking. You can pay it from your booking's details, or staff can collect it for you (by sending you a payment link or recording a payment they took another way).

If it's later removed or waived

If staff decide not to charge you for the item after all, they can waive it. A waived charge shows as Waived, and you're never charged for it. There's no separate notification for this; the status simply updates the next time you check the booking.

If you added an item yourself while amending your booking

If you added an optional item yourself while editing your own booking (rather than staff adding it for you), and that item is later waived, you may occasionally see it labeled Voided instead of Waived. This is a cosmetic difference only: whether it reads Voided or Waived, the outcome is identical, you were never charged and nothing further happens.
