Terminology: This universal guide uses neutral descriptions. Follow the property-specific labels shown in your workspace.
A public link lets you share a document or folder with someone who does not have an URBI account, like a vendor, an insurer or a prospective customer. Anyone with the link can view it until it expires or you revoke it, no sign-in required.
Select Share on the document or folder, then scroll to the Link section of the dialog. If nothing has been shared this way yet, it says "No links yet."
Pick one of the presets, or set your own date:
Custom opens a calendar so you can pick any date, up to 90 days out. Select "Create link" once a date is chosen.
The link is shown once with a Copy button. Paste it into an email, text or chat message. On a folder link, adding files to that folder later makes them reachable through the same link automatically.
If you close the dialog before copying the link and come back to it later, it still shows as Active, with a note that its URL was only shown once. Select New link, below the existing one, if you need a link you can copy again.
A link on a folder, with who created it and when it expires.
Opening the link needs no sign-in and shows no sidebar. A link to a single document opens straight to a Download button. A link to a folder lists the files inside it (and one level of any sub-folders) with a Download button on each. An expired or revoked link, and a mistyped or guessed link, all show the same message, "This link is not available," so nobody can tell the difference between a link that never existed and one that used to work.
Open the Share dialog and select Revoke next to the active link. This stops the link from working. If a file was already stored somewhere anyone with its web address could reach it directly (this is rare, and only applies to a small number of legacy files), revoking the link cannot take that direct address back; the dialog tells you so before you confirm.
