Categories, projects, and labels in URBI Kore help you organize tasks so your team can filter, sort, and find work quickly. Using these organizational tools consistently keeps your task list manageable as your property operations grow.
Categories are property-specific groupings for tasks. They help you classify work by type (e.g., Maintenance, Administrative, Compliance, Communication). Each task can have one category.
When creating or editing a task, use the Category dropdown in the sidebar to select one. Categories are defined per property and can be managed by administrators.
In the task sidebar navigation, categories appear as quick links. Click any category to see only tasks in that group. You can also use the filter sidebar to select one or more categories.
Projects group related tasks together under a common initiative (e.g., "Lobby Renovation", "2026 Budget Planning", "Fire Safety Upgrade"). Tasks can be linked to a project for tracking purposes.
Use the Project dropdown when creating or editing a task. You can also type p:project name in the title field during creation for quick assignment.
Projects appear as quick links in the sidebar navigation. Click a project to see all related tasks. The filter sidebar also supports selecting multiple projects.
Labels are flexible text tags with auto-assigned colors. Unlike categories (one per task), you can add multiple labels to a single task. Use labels for cross-cutting concerns like "Urgent Review", "Board Requested", or "Vendor Follow-up".
Use the Labels selector when creating or editing a task. You can select from existing labels or type l:label name in the title during creation. Labels rotate through 7 colors automatically.
Labels appear in the sidebar navigation and in the filter sidebar. Select one or more labels to narrow your view.
The filter sidebar lets you combine multiple organizational criteria at once:
Status: Show only tasks in a specific status
Priority: Filter by urgency level
Scope: All tasks, only mine, or mine and followed
Projects: Select one or multiple projects
Categories: Select one or multiple categories
Labels: Select one or multiple labels
Active filters stack together, so you can view something like "High priority tasks in the Lobby Renovation project with the Board Requested label." Click Clear all filters to reset.
In Kanban view, tasks are organized by status columns. Category and label colors appear on each card, making it easy to visually identify different types of work across the board.
Agree on a category structure with your team (e.g., Maintenance, Administrative, Compliance) and use it consistently
Use projects for time-bound initiatives and categories for ongoing classification
Labels work best for temporary tags or cross-cutting themes that do not fit neatly into one category
The sidebar gives one-click access to your most-used projects and categories
