Open a decision from the list. If you are a board member and the decision is still open, you will see Approve, Reject, and Abstain buttons. For a vendor decision, you vote on each vendor separately.
Voting on an open decision.
| Approve | Reject | Abstain |
Once more than half of the property's board members, not counting anyone who abstains, vote the same way, the decision reaches a majority. A banner appears showing Majority Approved or Majority Rejected. From there, the decision's creator, or a property manager or staff member, can select Finalize Decision to lock in the outcome.
A decision is not closed automatically the moment a majority appears. It stays open until someone finalizes it, and a vote that arrives in the meantime is still counted and can still change the outcome.
Reopening a decision starts a brand new round of voting. Every vote already cast in the previous round is retired, so it cannot be counted again, and a person's earlier vote does not carry forward. Everyone, including people who already voted the first time, needs to cast a fresh vote in the new round before it can reach a new majority.
Reopening starts a fresh round.
Previous round 3 approve, 2 reject Retired, no longer counted |
→ | New round 0 votes cast Open for everyone to vote again |
If a decision is linked to a bill and that bill has already been paid, the outcome is frozen. A vote can still be recorded after that point, but it can no longer change what has already happened with the bill. If your vote arrives after the bill's outcome was already acted on, you will be told your vote could not be applied and why, and asked to raise the bill again if a new decision is needed.
