For residents: the two ways to pay a deferred amenity deposit before your booking starts, on your own or through a payment link, and how each works.
Last updated
If you deferred a deposit at booking time, there are two ways to pay it before your booking starts: on your own initiative, or through a payment link staff sends you (or that arrives automatically as your booking's collection window opens).
Who this applies to: residents with a deferred, not-yet-collected deposit on a booking.
You don't have to wait for a reminder. You can pay a deferred deposit the moment you're ready.
Open your bookings list and find the booking with the pending deposit. It shows a "Deposit due" note.
Open the booking's details.
Tap "Pay deposit early." The button shows the exact amount, for example "Pay deposit early ($150.00)."
Complete the payment the same way you would for any other charge in the app. Once it goes through, the deposit note disappears and your booking shows it as paid.
If staff send you a payment link for your deposit (or your property's automatic reminder does, once your collection window opens), tapping the link or notification opens the payment screen directly inside the app, not a separate browser page. From there, paying works the same way as paying early.
If the link has already been used or is no longer valid, you'll see a message letting you know instead of a payment form, so you're never stuck guessing whether a payment went through.
If you received a booking as a guest or through a shared link and don't use the resident app, your payment link opens a secure web payment page instead. It works the same way, just outside the app.
Nothing is ever charged to your card automatically without you taking an action, whether that's tapping "Pay deposit early" or completing a payment through a sent link. If you never pay and never respond to reminders, staff may eventually follow up directly or, depending on your property's policy, cancel the booking; see "How to set up deferred deposit collection" for what staff see on their end.
