  • Part 1: Find our email in the Spam folder and rescue it
  • Part 2: Save us in your contacts
  • Part 3: Create a rule so our emails never go to Spam again (best step)
  • If you are using a phone or tablet (the Gmail app)
  • Still not seeing our emails?

If you have a Gmail address (your email ends in @gmail.com) and you are not seeing emails from your building, this guide will fix it. Sometimes Gmail puts our emails in a folder called Spam instead of your main inbox. The steps below tell Gmail that our emails are safe and should always come straight to you.

Take your time and do one step at a time. You do not need to do all three sections, but doing all of them gives you the best result.

If you are using a computer (web browser)

Part 1: Find our email in the Spam folder and rescue it

  1. Open your web browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox) and go to www.gmail.com. Sign in if it asks you to.

  2. Look down the left side of the screen. You will see a list of words like Inbox, Starred, Sent. If you do not see the word Spam, look for the word More at the bottom of that list and click it. The list will grow and Spam will appear.

  3. Click the word Spam. This opens the Spam folder.

  4. Look for any email from your building or from an address that ends in @myurbi.co.

  5. To the left of that email there is a small empty square (a checkbox). Click it once so a checkmark appears.

  6. Look at the row of buttons along the top. Click the one that says Not spam.

The email will move into your main inbox. You have just told Gmail that we are a real, safe sender. That is the most important step.

Part 2: Save us in your contacts

Gmail trusts people who are saved in your contacts, so adding us helps a lot.

  1. Open any email from us (it is now in your inbox).

  2. At the very top of the email, near our name, hover your mouse over our name or email address. A small box will pop up.

  3. In that box, click Add to contacts (it may look like a small person icon with a plus sign).

Part 3: Create a rule so our emails never go to Spam again (best step)

This tells Gmail to always deliver our emails to your inbox, forever.

  1. At the very top of the Gmail screen there is a long white search bar. Click inside it and type myurbi.co, then press the Enter key on your keyboard.

  2. At the right end of that search bar, click the small icon that looks like three little sliders or lines (when you point at it, it says Show search options).

  3. A box drops down. In the line that says From, type myurbi.co.

  4. At the bottom right of that box, click Create filter.

  5. A list of checkboxes appears. Click the empty box next to Never send it to Spam so a checkmark appears.

  6. Click Create filter one more time to save it.

That is it. From now on, every email from us will go straight to your inbox.

If you are using a phone or tablet (the Gmail app)

  1. Tap to open the Gmail app.

  2. In the top left corner, tap the three little lines (this is called the menu).

  3. Scroll down the list and tap Spam.

  4. Tap to open any email from @myurbi.co.

  5. At the top right of the email, tap the three dots.

  6. Tap Report not spam or Not spam.

The email moves to your inbox. To also save us as a contact, open one of our emails, tap our name at the top, and tap Add to contacts.

Still not seeing our emails?

No problem. Tell your property manager the exact email address you are checking, and we will look it up on our side and tell you what is happening.
