The Accounting Settings card is the central place to configure the foundational rules that govern how URBI's accounting module works for a property. It covers four areas: fiscal year, reporting basis, budget rollover, and year-end close.
Go to Property Settings, then open the Accounting tab. The Accounting Settings card appears in the settings card grid alongside Bank Connection, Billing Rules, and your other accounting cards. Click Manage to open the settings drawer.
Staff who hold the accounting_settings_manage permission for the property. If you cannot see the Manage button or the drawer fields are read-only, contact your PM or administrator to check your permissions.
| Tab | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Fiscal Year | The month your fiscal year starts. Locks permanently once a budget or posted journal entry exists. |
| Reporting Basis | Default basis (Accrual or Cash) for budget performance reports and financial reports. |
| Budget Rollover | Whether unspent budget on a line carries into the next period or each period starts fresh. |
| Year-End Close | The equity account that will receive the closing entry at year-end, and the auto-lock policy. (Running an automated year-end close is coming soon, see note below.) |
Note: The Year-End Close tab lets you choose the closing equity account and the auto-lock policy now. The automated "Close fiscal year" action itself is coming soon and is not yet available; this article will be updated with a how-to once it is live.
