My bank account shows a "Reconnect" button

Your bank connection needs to be re-authenticated. This usually happens after a password change, a security update at your bank, or when your bank's consent window expires.

Click Reconnect on the Bank Accounts card in Property Settings and complete the Plaid login steps again. New transactions will resume pulling in starting the following morning. No historical data or matched transactions are affected.

I switched off one account and the others stopped too

This was a bug, and it is fixed. Every account now has its own switch, and switching one off leaves the rest of that bank syncing normally.

If you hit it before the fix, nothing was lost: your transactions stayed in your books the whole time. Reconnect the bank and switch the accounts you want back on, and the period they were off will be fetched for you.

An account says "Switched off" but I did not do it

Two different things read as switched off, and the row tells you which:

  • A date and a person's name underneath means someone switched it off deliberately. Click Switch back on to resume it.
  • No name and no date means the account was never chosen when the bank was first connected. It is not listed at all, so if you are expecting an account you cannot see, re-link the bank and pick it during the bank's own account-selection step.

The bank card says "Connected, but nothing is syncing"

Every account at that bank has been switched off individually, so the bank login is still there with nothing to do. Click Switch back on next to whichever accounts you want running again.

We deliberately leave the bank connected in this state rather than removing it, so that switching an account back on stays a single click.

I removed a bank by accident

Removing a bank cannot be undone from inside URBI. Click Re-link this bank on its card and sign in to your bank again, then switch on the accounts you want.

Everything already brought in stays in your books, and each account keeps the ledger account it was mapped to, so your reconciliation history is unaffected.

The reconciliation worksheet shows a "Currency mismatch" error when I try to start

This happens when the opening balance recorded for the selected GL account uses a different currency than the statement ending balance you entered, or the account's currency does not match the connected bank account's currency.

Check that you have selected the correct GL account for the statement you are working from. If the mismatch is genuine (for example, the account was migrated or set up with the wrong currency), contact your PM to correct the account's currency setting before starting the reconciliation.

I cannot start a reconciliation because the period overlaps a locked period

If a reconciliation already exists (locked or in progress) for the same GL account that overlaps any part of the dates you selected, URBI blocks the new reconciliation to prevent double-counting.

Options:

  • Adjust the start or end date so it falls outside the existing period.
  • If the existing period is in-progress and belongs to you, finish it first.
  • If the existing period is locked and needs to be corrected, reopen it (requires Full GL access) before creating the new one.

The Rules tab is empty and I cannot add rules

If you see a read-only Rules tab with no controls, your GL access level is view-only. The Rules tab is visible to view-only users but all edit actions are hidden.

Ask your PM to upgrade your GL access to at least Edit level (Full access is required to save and run reconciliation rules). Once your access is updated, reload the page and the controls will appear.

My bank line is not matching even though I have a posted journal entry for the same amount

Automatic GL matching runs when you open the Bank lines tab and when a journal entry is posted. Try these steps in order:

  1. Open Accounting > General Ledger > Banking and click the Bank lines tab. This triggers a fresh matching pass.
  2. Confirm the journal entry is posted (not draft). Draft entries are not eligible for matching.
  3. Confirm the journal entry's GL account is the same account that is linked to your bank connection. Entries posted to unlinked accounts are not matched. Check the bank account link in Property Settings > Accounting > Bank Accounts.
  4. Check that the journal entry date is within 7 days of the bank line date. Matches outside that window are not made automatically. If the dates are further apart, use the Manual Match option to link them.
  5. Check that the amounts match exactly (to the cent). A difference of even one cent prevents an automatic match.

If none of the above resolve the issue, use Match manually on the bank line to select the GL entry directly.

What is the difference between "Cleared to bank" and "Reconciled"?

These are two separate stages in the matching lifecycle:

  • Cleared to bank (green pill): The bank line has been matched to an expense or GL entry. The amounts agree and the record is accounted for in URBI. This happens automatically when a match is found.
  • Reconciled (gold pill): The matched line has been included in a statement reconciliation that was locked. This is the formal sign-off that the transaction appeared on a specific bank statement and has been confirmed.

A line must be Cleared to bank before it can become Reconciled. A line that has never been matched cannot be locked into a reconciliation. If you lock a reconciliation and later reopen it, matched lines return to Cleared to bank until the period is locked again.
