How to filter transactions with the search bar

Follow these steps to narrow the Transactions table using the search bar's filter chips.

1. Go to Accounting > Transactions.
2. Click into the search bar above the table. Type a plain word to search descriptions and references as before, or start typing a filter name, like status, to jump straight into that filter's values.

3. Click Filter, or just start typing, to see the full list of filters: status, date, amount, billing account and unit. Pick one to see its values.
4. Choose a value. It appears as a colored chip in the bar, for example "Status: Overdue". Add as many chips as you need, they all narrow the table together, along with any plain text you typed.

5. For a date filter, either type or pick an exact date, or choose one of the quick presets: Today, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days, This month, or Last month.

6. Watch the count above the table, it updates as soon as a chip is added or removed, so you always know how many transactions match your filters.
7. To remove one filter, click the small x on its chip. To clear every filter and the typed text at once, click the × at the end of the bar. Either action also updates the filter sidebar next to the table, since the bar and the sidebar always show the same filters.

8. The filter sidebar is still there if you prefer clicking through dropdowns instead of typing. Open it from the same page, any change you make there shows up as a chip in the bar right away, and vice versa.
