This article covers the common messages and states you may run into when voiding or correcting entries.
What it means: The entry you are trying to void or correct is in a closed or locked accounting period. Acting on a closed or locked period needs the senior "override locked period" permission, and your account does not currently have it.
What to do: Ask a colleague who holds the senior "override locked period" permission to make the change for you, or to grant access if appropriate for your organization. They will see the choice between reversing in the current period and reopening the period.
What it means: When you create or correct an entry, the date picker disables any date that falls inside a closed or locked period. Hovering over a greyed-out date shows a tooltip explaining why. This keeps new entries out of periods you have already finalized.
What to do: Pick a date in an open period. If you genuinely need to affect a closed period, see the article on fixing an entry in a closed period, which explains the override paths.
What it means: This is expected. When you use the reopen-and-rebalance path, voiding the entry inside the reopened period leaves the period total off by that amount. URBI warned you about this in the confirmation step.
What to do: Manually rebalance the period so the totals are correct again, then close or lock the period a second time. The period is not finished until you have rebalanced and re-closed or re-locked it.
