When a home changes hands, whoever is leaving may still owe something, or the property may owe them a credit. Settling that balance is now a real step inside the ownership transfer, instead of something you have to track down and clean up separately afterward.
Here's what that looks like in practice. As you work through a transfer and mark it as settled, URBI shows you a card called Resolve outstanding balance. It lists exactly what the departing account, and anyone else leaving with them, still owes: any outstanding invoices, plus anything that hasn't been invoiced yet. Underneath that is a Total, and a button to record the payment right there.
If there's nothing left to collect, you'll see a simple confirmation instead: nothing owed, nothing further to settle. You can move on.
If the departing account is sitting in credit instead of owing money, the transfer won't let you start until that credit is resolved. You'll see a Credit balance card telling you to refund the credit first.
This step covers the departing account and anyone else in the same household who is also leaving. You choose who that includes before you get to the balance. See "The household list and also leaving" for how that works.
The rest of this guide walks through reading the balance, choosing who it applies to, taking the payment, and what it does to any of that account's existing bills.
