Use a percentage when the tax on an expense or invoice line should change with the amount or quantity.
- Create or edit an expense or invoice, then open Line Items.
- On the line you need, select Custom in the Tax menu.
The Tax control appears on each line item.

- Select %, then enter the rate in the percentage field.
- Choose Inclusive or Exclusive for the line, then review the tax amount and total shown beside the line.
A percentage rate updates the line tax and total as you enter it.

- Save or submit the expense or invoice as usual. The percentage is kept with that line item and appears again when you reopen, duplicate, or apply it from a saved template.
If you switch between $ and %, URBI clears the value from the other mode. A blank percentage is allowed and shows $0.00 tax. Enter a rate from 0 through 100. If the rate is outside that range, Enter a rate between 0 and 100 appears and you cannot submit until it is corrected.
