What Happens to Bills After Settlement

Settling a balance doesn't just record a payment, it also cleans up the bills behind it.

If a charge was sitting on a bill that had never actually gone out to the departing party, and that charge gets settled, URBI cancels that unsent bill for you. That way it can't accidentally be sent out or collected on again after the fact, for money that's already been settled through the transfer.

If that same bill also has other charges on it that genuinely weren't part of the settlement, the bill isn't cancelled outright. Instead, it stays in place with just the unsettled charges on it, and its total is recalculated to match. Nothing that's still owed gets lost, and nothing that's already been settled lingers on a bill that could go out again.
