  • Remove a whole bank

You need the Bank Connection permission enabled for your user on the property. If you do not see the Connect button, ask your PM to enable it in your user settings.

Connect your first account

  1. Go to Accounting, then open Property Settings.
  2. Locate the Bank Accounts card.
  3. Click Connect a bank account.
  1. A secure Plaid window opens. Search for or select your financial institution.
  2. Log in with your online banking credentials and select the operating account(s) to link. The currency and country are set automatically based on the property's location - you do not need to choose them.
  3. Click Continue in Plaid to confirm.
  1. Wait a few seconds while URBI completes the connection. When finished, your connected accounts appear as a list on the Bank Accounts card.

Transactions pull in automatically once per day starting the following morning.

Add another account

Repeat the steps above. Each click of Connect a bank account adds a new institution or account row. A property can have multiple active connections.

Sync transactions now

Transactions pull in automatically once per day. If you need the latest transactions immediately - for example, right before reconciling a statement - you can force a sync instead of waiting for the overnight run.

  1. Open the Bank Connection panel and find the bank's card.
  2. Click Sync now in that card's header.

The Sync now button sits on the bank's card, alongside Re-link and Disconnect bank, because each of those applies to the whole bank rather than to one account.

  1. URBI pulls the latest transactions from your bank and runs matching on any new lines. This usually takes a few seconds; a large backfill may continue in the background, with new lines appearing in the Banking feed as they arrive.

You can keep working while a sync runs, and syncing never affects already-matched transactions.

Re-link a connection that has expired

When a connection needs re-linking, you will see a Reconnect button next to the affected account on the Bank Accounts card. This happens when your bank requires you to re-authenticate (for example, after a password change).

  1. Click Reconnect next to the account.
  1. Complete the Plaid authentication steps again (same as the initial connect flow).
  2. Once done, the account status returns to active and the daily sync resumes.

Until you reconnect, new transactions from that account will not pull in. Existing matched transactions are not affected.

Switch off one account without affecting the others

Each bank you connect can hold several accounts. In the Bank Connection panel, every bank is shown as its own card, with its accounts listed inside it.

To stop syncing one account and leave the rest alone:

  1. Open the Bank Connection panel and find the account inside its bank's card.
  2. Click Switch off on that account's row.
  3. Confirm. The dialog names the account you chose and tells you which accounts keep syncing.

Switched off Aug 4 2026 by Dana Whitfield

A bank card with one account switched off. The other accounts carry on as normal.

The bank login stays connected, so this is not the same as removing the bank. Transactions already brought in stay in your books, and the account keeps its ledger account, so anything from it that is still unmatched can still be reconciled.

Switch an account back on

Click Switch back on next to a switched-off account and confirm.

Because the bank login was never removed, syncing resumes right away. URBI also fetches the transactions from the period the account was switched off, so there is no gap in your records. That first sync takes longer than usual, and a message on the bank card tells you it is catching up.

Remove a whole bank

Removing a bank stops every account under it, and it is the one action here you cannot undo with a click: getting the bank back means signing in to it again.

There are two ways to reach it, and both show the same warning:

  • Click Disconnect bank on the bank's card.
  • Switch off the last account that is still syncing at that bank. Because nothing would be left, URBI asks about the whole bank instead of that one account.

Transactions already brought in stay in your books either way.
