Does this replace recording a normal payment on an invoice? No. This is specifically for wrapping up a departing owner's balance as part of an ownership transfer. You'd still record a normal payment the usual way for anything unrelated to a transfer.
Do I have to collect the whole balance in one payment? The settlement is recorded as a single payment that clears everything shown in the total at once. It isn't set up to split the balance across multiple partial payments.
What if the departing party doesn't owe anything? You'll see a message that nothing is owed and there's nothing further to settle. You can move on without recording a payment.
Can I choose which payment method was used? Yes. The same payment method choices you'd see recording any other payment are available here: Bank Transfer, Check, Cash, Credit Card, ACH, Interac, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Other.
Does settling the balance also finish the transfer? No, it's its own step. Recording the settlement payment clears the balance; finishing the rest of the transfer is separate.
What happens to the other people in the household who aren't leaving? Anyone you leave unticked on the household list stays with the unit. Their balance isn't part of this settlement, and they carry forward as part of the take-over.
Can residents record this themselves? No. This is a Kore-only step for staff, board members, and property managers. It isn't part of the resident app.
What happens to a bill that included one of the settled charges? If that bill hadn't been sent out yet, it's cancelled once its charges are settled. If it also had other charges that weren't part of the settlement, it stays in place with just those charges and a recalculated total. See "What happens to bills after settlement" for more detail.
