All collections

Recording the settlement payment is its own action, separate from finishing the rest of the transfer. Selecting Record settlement payment and confirming it in the Receive Payment popup only settles the balance itself. It doesn't, by itself, finish or confirm the ownership transfer.

That means you can take care of the money side, collecting exactly what's owed from the departing party, as its own step, and it doesn't have to happen in the same breath as completing the rest of the transfer paperwork.
